39th Annual Anniversary of Research Centre for Applied Science and Technology (RECAST)

On the 39th Annual Anniversary of Research Centre for Applied Science and Technology (RECAST), Tribhuvan University (TU) a special programme was organized at RECAST premises. Prof. Gunanidhi Nyaupane, Rector,Tribhuvan University (TU) was the chief guest of the programme. Prof. Dr. Chandra Mani Paudel, Registrar, TU (Special guest), Prof. Chirika Shova Tamrakar, Dean, Institute of Science and Technology, TU and Prof Dr. Arun Sayami, Dean (former), Institue of Medicine, TU were also present in the programme.

RECAST is one research centre among four research centers of TU serving on applied science and technology and contributing towards the national development. RECAST was established on September 8, 1977 (Bhadra 23, 2034 B.S.) within the organizational framework of Tribhuvan University according to the Tribhuvan University Act 1976.  RECAST has devoted to Research and Development (R&D) in basic and applied Science and Technology (S&T). It is primarily concerned with the identification, improvement and/or generation and dissemination of technologies appropriate to optimum utilization of national resources for the overall development of the country. An overarching goal of RECAST is to conduct as well as facilitate to conduct research in the areas of S&T.

Dr. Sajani Shrestha, Associate Professor, RECAST, TU delivered a welcome speech. On the annual anniversary of RECAST, Prof. Gun Nidhi Nyaupane launch   RECAST Newsletter.  Prof Nyaupane and other guest jointly greeted Prof. Dr. Krishna Raj Shrestha with Khada and present token of love on behalf of RECAST, TU on his retirement after 39 years long service. All speakers on Dias emphasized on research oriented work on applied science and technology and gave their best wishes for RECAST good's future.

The Chairperson Prof. Dr. Ram P. Chaudhary, Executive Director, RECAST addressed and closed the programme. Dr. Chaudhary told RECAST has a mission to contribute to scientific community and society for enhanced research and development (R&D). In collaboration with various institutions of Government of Nepal, Development Partners, NGOs, international academic institution, RECAST has been contributing to knowledge upscaling in STI. He Thanked TU authorities, institutions and all partners and communities for their help and support. Mr. Chandra Kanta Subedi, Teaching Assistant, RECAST, TU conducted the programme.
