Prof. Ram P. Chaudhary awarded by National Conservation Award

On the occasion of ‘National Conservation Day’ 2072 (2015), Prof. Ram P. Chaudhary was awarded with the prestigious “National Conservation Award” on September 24, 2015 (7 Ashoj 2072 B.S.) by the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation (MoFSC) and presented by Rt. Honourable Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha as Chief Guest along with Mr. Mahesh Acharya, Minister, and Mr. Madhu Prasad Regmi, Secretary, for the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation in presence of high level authorities of the Government of Nepal, dignitaries from USAID, Norway, JICA, and many others.

The event was organized by the MoFSC, Government of Nepal in association with eight organizations including ICIMOD, WWF-Nepal, NTNC, IUCN, etc. that have formed a Consortium and started to mark 24th September as National Conservation Day in the memory of 24 conservation heroes who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter accident in 2006 at Ghunsa in Kangchenjunga Conservation Area, Nepal.    

Prof. Ram P. Chaudhary receiving National Conservation Award 2072 on September 24, 2015 (7 Ashoj, 2072 B.S.) or his contribution in the area of conservation of natural resources and biodiversity by Rt. Honourable Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha. Mr. Mahesh Acharya, Minister and Mr. Madhu Prasad Regmi, Secretary, for Forests and Soil Conservation also graced the event.
