Renewable Energy
Research Centre for Applied Science and Technology (RECAST), under the auspices of Tribhuvan University is the only institution devoted entirely to the research and development activities in the area of science and technology. It is primarily concerned with the improvement and generation of technological capability in bringing science and technology for development and utilization of country’s resources as well as with the dissemination of socio-economically feasible and environmentally sustainable technologies at large. It was established on Bhadra 23, 2034 (September 8, 1977) under the present name. Prior to this, it was functioning under the name of Institute of Applied Science and Technology which was established in Dharan, in 2039/2030 (July 1973) with the teaching programmers of Food Technology and Laboratory Technology.
